The Rum and Popcorn 100

I got a lot of problems with these people!

35. Brian Cashman and the Minnesota Twins

Yeah, it turned out okay for the Twins this season, but they still made a horrendous trade for the possibly the best pitcher in baseball, Johan Santana. But Brian Cashman, GM of the Yankees, gets top billing for the first “are you f—king kidding me!” trade of the year. Because somehow, he couldn’t top the Mets’ package of Carlos Gomez, Tom Seaver’s old pitching rosin, a couple of fungo bats, and a half-pack of Marlboro Lights signed by Keith Hernandez.

Mitigating circumstances: Allowed Ian Kennedy and Phil Hughes to fall on their face, setting up the overpayment of CC Sabathia. Which, let’s face it, is like an economic stimulus package for New York restaurants.
